ABOUT ME
Have you ever seen that crazy Halloween house in a neighborhood with all the wild decorations that cars literally slam on their breaks to take a look at? Well, if you have– that's my house. In fact, when I introduce myself to anyone for the first time, I ask them "Have ever seen that wild Halloween house off the main road?" And of course they reply with a resounding, "Yes!" Then, I follow-up with, "Well that's my house!" They either love me or hate me in that moment, but surely they know who I am and what I'm about after I tell them where I live.
Realm of Halloween began as a single children's book that I wrote and illustrated for my youngest daughter. Not too long after the first book was published (literally hours later), I wrote the second, and then the third–and I genuinely have a whole collection of additional stories that I am working on as we speak because, of course, I'm building a world. Anyone who knows me would expect nothing less. It's as simple as–I love Halloween, and I love to create, and I have thousands of hours in this project so I might as well keep going. I also have a knack for sewing–so (pun intended) there you go.
People who saw what I had created told me that it was worth sharing– and that is where the madness ensued! How does one produce a product for the world to buy on a shoe-string budget? And even worse, how does one produce an entire collection of products that tells the story of her vision on that same shoe-string budget?
Well, she does the impossible and hand-makes it herself, and then she shares with others how to do the same. I've attempted many things over the years to get my creation into the hands of my fellow good witches. I have even dared to set up my own manufacturing in a foreign country with the help of a few good Saints running a humanitarian organization. In all my efforts, I've found myself back exactly where I started–sharing the secrets of beautiful Handmade Halloween so that others could do what I have already done–create magic! The magic is in the making.
May you find as much joy in making as I have in the creation!
Sincerely, Your Fellow Witch,
Jenny, A.K.A. The Everything Housewife
